6th Grade Minnesota History Syllabus
Mr. Dopp [email protected]
The content that will be covered in 6th Grade Social Studies will directly incorporate the Minnesota Social Studies Academic Standards. We will begin the year by taking a close look at the events and people who inhabited Minnesota previous to European settlement. As the year progresses, the class will move chronologically forward through many historical topics and events. We will discuss and learn about current topics through a once per week look at the top headlines in the news as well.
Homework:
Students should expect at least one homework assignment per week from history. We will use our Northern Lights textbook frequently, and these will be kept by the students. We will do several projects including map making, historic role playing activities, and a mock trial in class. I will use Cornerstone to push out alerts as each assignment or long term project is underway.
